Nesma Mahgoub is an Egyptian singer who rose to fame as the winner of the 8th season of the pan-Arab television talent show Star Academy Arab World. She became the second Egyptian to win in the show, after Mohamed Atieh, the second female contestant to win, after Shada Hassoun. Born Nesma Alaa Ali Mahgoub on September 26, 1989 in Cairo, Egypt, her mother taught her music and reading notes. Nesma was studying Journalism, Mass Communication, Theater, and Music at the American University in Cairo before participating in Star Academy. In 2018, she married Shady El Halawany.
