Notable for her work in Telugu, Tamil, and Bollywood films, this Indian actress was nominated for Zee Cine and Star Guild awards for her portrayal of Radha in the 2012 Hindi feature English Vinglish. Her other noteworthy roles include Ratna Prabha and Priya in the respective Telugu films Leader and Rama Rama Krishna Krishna (both released in 2010).
After graduating from the State University of New York (SUNY)-Albany with a degree in journalism, she returned to India and launched a career as a model. She made her screen acting debut in the 2009 Tamil thriller Vaamanan.
In 2011, she began working on behalf of India’s Save the Children initiative.
The daughter and only child of Bharadwaj and Radha Anand, she grew up in Chennai and Hyderabad, India, in a family of Tamil, Telugu, and Marathi heritage.
She and Taapsee Pannu were both cast in significant roles in the Aishwarya R. Dhanush-directed Tamil thriller Vai Raja Vai.
